Swiss Association Delivers Two-Day Masterclass on AI and Art for Children with Disabilities

Baku, Azerbaijan – On April 15th and 16th, the Swiss Association for Women and Empowerment delivered an inspiring two-day masterclass focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and art at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum. This workshop, part of the Azerbaijan–Switzerland Cultural Dialogue project, was specifically designed for children with disabilities, including those with autism, providing them with a unique and accessible way to engage with both traditional and modern artistic techniques.
Led by Valeria Biben, the Swiss Association’s curator for AI and art projects, the masterclass introduced participants to the creative potential of AI in art. The children were guided through the process of using AI tools to create their own personalized carpet design sketches. This integration of advanced technology with the ancient art of Azerbaijani carpet weaving gave the young artists an innovative and hands-on way to explore creativity.
The masterclass aimed to empower children with disabilities through creative expression while making the museum experience more inclusive. By merging traditional art with advanced technology, the Swiss Association sought to provide an engaging and accessible environment for all participants.
This initiative is part of the broader Azerbaijan–Switzerland Cultural Dialogue project, which highlights the shared commitment of both countries to promoting inclusivity in cultural spaces. Through this collaboration, Switzerland and Azerbaijan continue to strengthen their cultural ties while advancing innovation and accessibility in the arts.
