17 Faces of Action in Vietnam

29.02

In October 2023, the Vietnamese chapter of the 17 Faces of Action opened at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum in Hanoi. This exhibition celebrated the remarkable achievements of 17 Vietnamese women and their invaluable contributions towards realizing the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Madam Tatyana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations at Geneva, as consistent with the project’s previous launches in various countries.

While in Hanoi, the members of ASWE had the privilege of attending an enlightening lecture by the Director-General of the UN Geneva, centered on the importance of multilateralism in our complex and interconnected world. The lecture was moderated by the Vice-President of DAV.

During their visit to Hanoi, ASWE had the honor of meeting a number of inspiring Vietnamese women, including Madam Thai Huong, who serves as the Chairwoman of the Viet Nam Association of Women Entrepreneurs (VAWE), Ms. Tran Lan Phuong, the leader of Vietnam’s Women Union, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, the founder and CEO of the innovative women’s association, WeLead.

The 17 Faces of Action exhibition and interactions with key figures in Vietnam’s women’s empowerment movement served as a testament to the progress achieved and the work that lies ahead.
