Saudi Arabia Joins Global "17 Faces of Action" Initiative with Landmark Exhibition in Riyadh




In February 2025, the Saudi Arabian chapter of “17 Faces of Action” opened at Fenaa Alawwal, Diplomatic Quarter, Riyadh, marking a significant milestone in the global initiative. With Saudi Arabia becoming the 10th country to join the project, the exhibition underscored the nation’s commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the stories of inspiring local changemakers.
The exhibition was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of H.E. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, highlighting the international significance of the initiative.
Representing the Saudi chapter were distinguished leaders across various fields, each contributing to social, economic, and scientific advancements. The lineup included HH Princess Nouf bint Mohammed Al Saud, Dr. Nadia Al-Tamimi, Dr. Hayat Sindi, HE Professor Dr. Einas bint Sulaiman AlEisa, Dr. Thoraya Ahmed Obaid, Ms. Dunya Sulaiman Al-Harbi, Dr. Malak Al-Nory, Lubna Sulaiman Olayan, Eng. Mishaal Ashemimry, HRH Princess Albandari bint Abdulrahman Al Faisal, Norah Ali Alyusuf, Dr. Maha AlNuhait, HH Princess Mashael AlShalan, Zahra Alsaffar, Dr. Majdah Aburas, HE Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, and HRH Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud.
The “17 Faces of Action” project, a global initiative aimed at showcasing individuals who drive change towards achieving the SDGs, has gained momentum worldwide. With Saudi Arabia’s participation, the exhibition not only celebrated the nation’s progress but also amplified the voices of women leaders and innovators who are shaping the future.
