“17 Faces of Action” in Mongolia
Swiss Association of Women and Empowerment Highlights Women’s Voices at World Women’s Forum 2024 and Unveils '17 Faces of Action' Exhibition in Mongolia
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – The Swiss Association of Women and Empowerment made a powerful impact at the World Women’s Forum 2024 in Mongolia, where it unveiled the Mongolian chapter of the international project “17 Faces of Action.”
The exhibition, which opened on August 22nd at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum in Ulaanbaatar on the sidelines of the World Women’s Forum, features portraits of 17 remarkable women who are driving change in various fields, from activism and business to diplomacy and social justice. The photographs were taken by the remarkable photographers of the Mongolian Landscape Photographers Society – Ms. Itgel Chuluunbaatar, Ms. Tamir Sandagsuren, Ms. Zolboo Khishigsuren, Ms. Gandolgor Tsogtbaatar, Mr. Gan-Ulzii Gonchig.
Mongolia became the 9th country to host the exhibition, which aims to celebrate women’s contributions towards 17 Sustainable Development Goals and inspire future generations by highlighting their stories of resilience, leadership, and action.
The association’s participation in the World Women’s Forum underscores its mission to amplify women’s voices and foster international collaboration. During the Forum, representatives met with President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh, building new avenues for global partnerships. Additionally, discussions with Ms. Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, further emphasized the importance of leadership in driving sustainable development and global empowerment for women.
Mongolia’s hosting of the exhibition marks an important milestone in the association’s efforts, as it becomes the ninth country to feature this unique collection. The exhibition, initiated by the Director-General of the Nations Office at Geneva organized on the sidelines of the World Women’s Forum with the support of the Office of the President of Mongolia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, is part of the association’s broader initiatives to foster cross-cultural dialogue and showcase the critical role women play in shaping a more equitable world.
