Meeting with the General Women’s Union

On July 9, 2025, we had the honor of welcoming a distinguished delegation from the General Women’s Union (GWU) of the United Arab Emirates to our office in Geneva.

Our guests included H.E. Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GWU, and Eng. Ghalya Al Mannaee, Chairwoman of the Strategic and Development Affairs Committee.

The General Women’s Union, based in Abu Dhabi, is chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi — the Mother of the Nation, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. The GWU stands as a cornerstone of progress for women’s empowerment in the UAE.

Building on our collaboration during COP28 in 2023, this meeting opened new avenues for partnership, guided by a shared commitment to gender equality, inclusive innovation, and cultural dialogue.

Together, we look forward to fostering initiatives that amplify women’s voices and create bridges between Switzerland, the UAE, and the wider global community.
