COP 29: Introducing the AI App MISSION

In November 2024, the SAWE participated in COP 29, held in Baku, Azerbaijan. On the margins of the Blue Zone, SAWE unveiled its innovative new project: the AI App MISSION, which brings the SDGs to life by assigning a unique avatar to each goal, making the global agenda more relatable and accessible to all.

The AI App Mission: Bridging Technology and Sustainability

The AI App Mission reimagines how we connect with the 17 SDGs by assigning each goal a unique, animated avatar. These avatars are designed to reflect diversity and inclusion, representing individuals from around the globe. Powered by cutting-edge AI tools, the avatars are not just visually engaging but also highly informative. They are trained to answer questions about their respective goals, enabling users to gain a deeper understanding of the SDGs in a conversational and interactive manner.

At COP 29, participants had the opportunity to test the app, interact with the animated avatars, and explore SDGs that resonated with them. To make the experience even more special, visitors received exclusive SAWE goodies, symbolizing a token of gratitude and a commitment to collaboration for a sustainable future.

A Special Tribute to Azerbaijan

In honor of COP 29’s host nation, SAWE introduced a bespoke avatar—an Azerbaijani girl inspired by the nation’s vibrant cultural heritage. This avatar played a dual role, not only presenting the application but also warmly welcoming delegates to the conference. Through this gesture, SAWE celebrated Azerbaijan’s historical significance as the first country to embrace the 17 Faces of Action, a campaign highlighting the women’s role in the global efforts toward the SDGs.
